In June 2006, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), approved for marketing Opana ER, an extended release formulation of oxymorphone hydrochloride that the Company developed with Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc (Endo), using its TIMERx drug delivery technology. Penwest is also developing product candidates designed for the treatment of pain, epilepsy, Parkinson?s disease and spasticity, as well as a product candidate for the treatment of edema resulting from congestive heart failure. The Company conducts its business primarily in North America.
